Why businesses leave GoDaddy's builder
Most GoDaddy builder sites were made in a hurry to get something online, and they did that job. Then the business grew and the site didn't: one or two pages, stock photos, no real booking, and a bill that grew at renewal.
Leaving is simpler than it looks, because the parts that matter most, your domain and email, can stay exactly where they are.
Your domain and email stay put
The domain doesn't have to move. Pointing it at the new site means changing a couple of records in your GoDaddy account and leaving the email records alone, so Professional Email or Microsoft 365 keeps working without a pause.
If you'd rather move the domain to a registrar in your own name, we can do that too, after the switch.
What can come across
The builder has no export, so the site itself is rebuilt. Your words and photos come across, contacts and products are exported where the plan allows, and the stock text and photos are replaced with your own.
The day of the switch
The new site is checked on a private link. On the day, the website's records are pointed at it with the redirects in place, and the builder waits in the background until everything is confirmed.
The weeks after
We watch Search Console, test forms and bookings, resubmit the sitemap, and once it has all settled, cancel the builder plan and its add-ons, leaving your domain and email exactly as they were.
- Search Console watched
- Email checked
- Builder cancelled last
